Ford Key Fob Programming Instructions
- Close each door of the vehicle, then open the driver-side door. Press the UNLOCK button on the driver-side door.Â
- Turn the ignition from OFF to RUN 8 times. This step needs to be done within 10 seconds, and on the 8th time, you must end on RUN. This will give you access to the programming mode and you will hear the door locks will lock and unlock. (Note: If the doors don't cycle, it is likely because you did not perform step 2 quickly enough.)Â
- Press any button on the Ford remote to be programmed. This step will need to be done within 8 seconds. To confirm the step has been successful, the door locks will cycle again. Your key fob is now ready to use!Â
- What happens if you need to program a second remote key fob? Again, press any button on the remote within 8 seconds to cycle the door locks. Repeat this as many times as you need if you are programming multiple key fobs.
- The last step is to turn the ignition to OFF. The locks will again cycle to confirm programming is complete.Â
How to Turn Off Ford MyKey
What if you are looking to turn off the Ford MyKey feature? This is also a possibility. Start the vehicle using your main admin key or admin key fob. The steps below will show you how to clear your programmed keys' settings and return each key to their original "admin key" status:
- Start your vehicle and wait for the computer and screen to turn on.
- Using the controls on your steering wheel, and press the left arrow button to access the main menu.
- On the main menu screen, press "Settings" after selecting "OK."
- When you reach the "Settings" screen, scroll until you find the "MyKey" option, then press "OK."
- Under "MyKey," find the option that says "Clear MyKey."
- After selecting "Clear MyKey," press and hold "OK" until you receive a message that says "All MyKeys Cleared."Â
