The Ford Super Duty Series consists of trucks that exhibit tremendous power and overall capability. You may have seen a few of these trucks lumbering around Niagara Falls, Buffalo, or Grand Island. The Ford F-250 is the introduction to the series, and our Ford F-250 guide makes it easy to learn about the model's specifications.

Our guide goes beyond specifications, however. We'll also layout the feature list for you, discuss some of the available accessories you can choose from, and touch on the driver-assistance capabilities. At Basil Ford of Niagara Falls, we're always trying to deliver information that matters to you!

2020 Ford F-250 Review

Plenty of Power Under the Hood

There are two primary engines that you can place under the hood of your Ford F-250, each of which deliver high-end strength and durability.

The base is a 6.2L V8, which has the ability to produce 385 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque. If you're often faced with tasks that require more strength, you can instead go for the 6.7L Power Stroke® V8 Turbo Diesel, which generates an astonishing 450 horsepower and 1050 lb-ft of torque.

With assistance from the 6-speed automatic transmission, your truck will move gracefully from one work site to the next.

Towing, Payload, & Driver-Assistance Technology

The Ford F-250 has the impressive capability that people have come to expect from the Super Duty lineup. To help you utilize all that capability on a regular basis, Ford has implemented a range of driver-assistance technology into the truck.

First, the maximum towing capacity of the Ford F-250 is a robust 18,200 pounds. When you couple that with 4,260 pounds of maximum payload, your truck will be able to handle jobs of pretty much any size.

When you have a trailer attached to the back, you'll begin to appreciate the technology inclusions, such as Trailer Sway Control, AdvanceTrac® with Roll Stability Control®, and BLIS® (Blind Spot Information System) with the addition of Trailer Coverage.

The driver-assistance features aren't limited to towing duties, however. Other technologies you can expect in the Ford F-250 include:

  • Lane-Keeping Alert
  • Adaptive Steering
  • Adaptive Cruise Control

Determining the Proper Ford F-250 Trim Level

As with the Ford F-150, the Ford F-250 comes in a number of different variations. Each variant is called a trim and introduces new features or packages into the truck.

The base Ford F-250 XL is a common choice because it comes loaded with technology, safety, and interior comfort. As you continue to ascend the trim levels, you'll find:

  • Ford F-250 XLT
  • Ford F-250 LARIAT
  • Ford F-250 King Ranch®
  • Ford F-250 Platinum
  • Ford F-250 Limited
