Each Ford Edge trim is dynamic and appealing in its own way, almost like four separate models. As you begin to peel back the layers of this SUV, there's even more to like. For a full rundown, keep reading our 2020 Ford Edge review.
Many drivers around the Niagara Falls, Buffalo, and Grand Island area have wanted to learn about the Edge, so our team at Basil Ford of Niagara Falls thought a thorough review where we cover performance, trims, and interior space would prove mighty useful!
Creating Your Ideal Performance
Performance is a big part of any Ford model. For the Edge, Ford has developed a couple of unique engines. You can also select between front-wheel drive and Intelligent All-Wheel Drive.
The base motor is plenty capable for commuters or first-time drivers. This 2.0L 4-cylinder has no trouble pumping out 250 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque. An 8-speed automatic transmission ensures smooth shifting and helps you receive an EPA-estimated fuel economy of 21 city MPG/29 highway MPG.
You can move up to the 2.7L V6 if you like. This engine is a bit more powerful, reaching 335 horsepower and 380 lb-ft of torque. Despite the jump in power, you'll still receive a steady fuel economy of 19 city MPG/26 highway MPG according to EPA estimates.
A Roomy Cabin
It only takes a few moments inside the cabin of the Ford Edge to realize why it continues receiving such rave reviews from critics and drivers.
In addition to high-end materials along the dashboard and seats, the space is generous. Headroom is 40.2 inches and 40.3 inches in the front and rear seats respectively, while legroom checks in at 42.6 inches in the front row and 40.6 inches in the second row.
The total passenger volume is 113.9 cubic feet. That figure is a big plus when you're trying to fit 5 passengers into the SUV. If cargo space is on your mind, you'll find 73.4 cubic feet with the second row folded flat.
If you have passengers in that second row, you can still load up 39.2 cubic feet of cargo or supplies in the trunk.
Choosing the Right Ford Edge
Options are a good thing. Ford agrees, which is why the Ford Edge comes in four distinct variations. Each trim represents a great value, has its own personality, and can be optioned with various accessories or packages for further customization.
The lineup plays out in the following order:
- SE
- SEL
- Titanium
- ST
